Education
program
on
the
product quality, safety and services
I-
Purpose:
In
order to carry out the law on the management of quality and
safety of products and services more effectively, the
Camcontrol Department ha organized a specific program to
disseminate and educate people, students and traders to all
the more clearly understand the meaning and contents of this
law with an aim to ensure the efficiency of the work.
II-
Activities
of education and dissemination:
Skilled
officials of the Camcontrol Department, various branches in
the provinces and cities throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia
have disseminated and educated people, traders, craftsmen,
and students at different educational establishments; sixty
-two seminars with the participation of 34,909 people,
traders, craftsmen and students were organized around the
country.
In
each seminar, Camcontrol officials raised main topics as
follows:
-
Contents of the law on the management of quality and
safety of products and services.
-
Recommendations on how to choose for consumption
the kind of food products, canned and packaged food
and how to check the expiry date printed on the products.
-
General hygiene at various food shops.
-
Risks caused by the use of drugs through the
presentation of pictures showing types of drugs.
III-
Results:
Following
the dissemination and education, we have noted that:
-
Domestic products are labeled in khmer language
showing its ingredients, manufacturing date, expiry date and
the addresses of the manufactures.
-
For the imported products, there are manufacturing
date and expiry date printed on them.
-
Consumers' understanding about hazardous effects on
their health in being improved.
-
Products
without manufacturing date, expiry date and goods products
with spoiled or fraudulent quality have dropped sharply.
-
People have understood more clearly the consequences
arising from the use of all kinds of drugs.
