Pursuant to the Law on the Management of the Quality and Safety of Products, and Services, officials of the Camcontrol branch in Takeo province headed by Mr. Khun Ussar, chief of the branch, on March 26th , 2002, burnt down a large number of goods with spoiled quality such as 356 bottles of " Heoy " beer, or 374 litres; 107 cans of locally-brewed beer with expiration date, or 35 liters; 336 packages of coco-nut jelly and coco-nut candy, or 136 kilograms, which were imported from Viet Nam and 17 rusty cans of condensed milk and canned fish.
The ceremony to burn down goods with spoiled quality was organized with the co-operation from Mr. chief of Daun Keo district, Mr. representative of the prosecutor of the provincial court, Mr. directors and Mr. deputy directors of the regional and provincial teacher-training schools, students, the owner of the goods and representatives from various departments in the province.
Mr. Khun Ussar emphasized the intention of such destruction was aimed at mitigating dangers caused by consuming goods with spoiled quality and goods with expiration date and at contributing to protecting our people's well-being.
Mr. chief of Daun Keo district on behalf of the local authorities deeply thanked and highly praised the Camcontrol officials for their outstanding performance in protecting people's welfare. He also recommended the traders to be more careful in purchasing goods for sale, thus avoiding spoiling their own benefits.
